With arm & leg in full casts, Stanley - living in a quiet NYC suburb - is enraged to need Janaan’s care. An arrogant, White American divorcée, Stanley and the young Afghan refugee form a bond which ruptures when Janaan is deported back to war-torn Afghanistan. Shocked to learn of Janaan’s encounter with a landmine, Stanley’s driven to find Janaan, and search for his humanity.
